ATSAH NC Monobloc Power Amplifier

State Of The Art Amplifier Technology

The power amplifier is a Class D design and is based on the latest NCORE® technology from Hypex.

NCORE® is the name given to the first significant step up in power amplifier performance in a decade.

Building on the strong heritage of the UcD design of Class D amplifiers, NCORE® takes the things UcD does well and does them 10 times better.

Coupled with a dedicated switch mode power supply made specifically to work with the Class D design, this amplifier not only nudges at the performance of the best linear amplifiers, but surpasses them in every aspect of sound quality.

Efficiency is over 90% and under normal operating conditions they radiate little heat, thus negating the need for large external heatsinks.

The input to the amplifier is a fully balanced differential input and the connector is a Neutrik® XLR input socket.

Speaker connections are via WBT nextgen™ Pole Terminal 0703 binding posts and there are 2 pairs to facilitate bi-wiring.

SWITCH MODE POWER SUPPLY:

The switch mode power supply is specifically designed for the Class D amplifier. Conventional SMPS’s are usually unsuitable for high quality audio due to poor peak power capabilities and the inability to handle reversed currents generated by Class D amplifiers as a load.

The SMPS used in the Acoustic Imagery ATSAH NC mono power amplifier overcomes these problems by using an advanced over current protection circuit and a highly efficient 2 quadrant DC/DC converter which is capable of handling reversed currents and has a peak power handling of many times its rated power.
